2012-2013 Poster Contest Entries due March 30!  (This is an extended deadline!)

ELL/BILINGUAL AWARENESS  POSTER CONTEST 2012-2013

This contest is open to anyone in the state of Minnesota who is currently an English Language Learner, kindergarten through post-secondary, including adult learners.

REQUIREMENTS:

The poster must

  • reflect the theme: “Minnesota: Land of Diverse Voices”
  • be 11” X 17” in size.
  • have written on the poster:

ESL/Bilingual Awareness, Minnesota: Land of Diverse Voices
Student’s Name
2012-2013

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

  1. Full color–the brighter the better
  2. Any medium–markers, crayons, paint, colored pencils
  3. Picture should relate to the theme
  4. Creativity is important
  5. Teachers: please send only your best entries

 

PRIZES:

 

Grand prize is $50. The winning poster will be the official poster of ELL/Bilingual Awareness for 2012-2013. The poster will become the property of MinneTESOL. It will be reproduced and used for promotional purposes for ESL/Bilingual Awareness.

First prizes:

  1. Grades K-3: $25.00
  2. Grades 4-6: $25.00
  3. Grades 7-12: $25.00
  4. Post-secondary and adult: $25.00

Winners and their teachers will be announced in spring 2013. Winning posters will be displayed both on our website and at the 2013 fall conference. A Note about 2013 Grants: The MinneTESOL Board of Directors has decided to use all grant funds in 2013 to help members attend the 2013 TESOL Academy. This academy will be held in June 2013 in the Twin Cities, and it will include 2 days of excellent professional development with national speakers.
