The Bridge: Much more than translation

Maria Pena Guevara Bilingual

This workshop will focus on introducing participants to the biliteracy teaching strategy of “The Bridge” described in Teaching for Biliteracy by Beeman K. and Urow C., (2013). We will explore how to use “The Bridge” as a tool to develop cross-linguistic connections, promote language transfer, and foster metalinguistic awareness using contrastive analysis. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and explore ways to implement The Bridge in their classrooms.
