Empowering newcomers While newcomers face unique challenges in their journey of second language acquisition, leveraging what they bring to the classroom can significantly impact student outcomes. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to honor, celebrate and affirm the cultures and languages of their students and leverage those assets to help students meet content standards while acquiring language proficiency.
