Student Mentorship Program for Multilingual Learners: “Hey, I have an idea!” STUDENT VOICE ABSENT NARRATIVES
This session will share resources and strategies for starting a student mentorship program that includes multilingual learners (compensated by the district) who work with newcomer and beginner peers. “Hey, I have an idea…” This phrase is one my administrators and colleagues have heard from me for years. Some ideas are better than others. EL mentoring has morphed over the years, but when students who graduated in 2008 still say “No other class was as impactful on my worldview toward others and the positive impact students can have,” it is one whose value cannot be measured by a grade.
