Using a Task-Based Approach to Improve the Oral Skills of Japanese EFL/ESL University Students UNIV

This presentation examines the struggles that many Japanese EFL/ESL learners have had in speaking English, which can, often, be attributed to the non-communicative instructional methods that have traditionally been employed in Japan. Hence, as an alternative to help stimulate oral English classes in Japanese universities, the presenters advocate the adoption of a task-based approach to language teaching.
