Translanguaging as a Safe Haven for Newcomer Students: Promoting Assets and Empowering Learning

This research explores the use of translanguaging practices in educating newcomers in the US. The study involved 10 participants proficient in at least two languages besides English. Findings showed that implementing translanguaging practices can facilitate language acquisition and increase students’ sense of safety and comfort in the classroom.
